As the line is wound in, there is always the excitement of “what have I caught”? This time, one of our guests from Cambodia reeled in a nice salmon! The couple were delighted since salmon is a real delicacy in Cambodia and they knew just how to cook it back at their campsite at Akaroa Holiday Park.

Welcome Little Lucas!

Rob and Beth wish to announce the birth of their first child, a son named Lucas, on 4 March 2011. He was born at Christchurch Women’s Hospital and weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces.  Daddy can’t wait til Lucas is old enough to go fishin’!

Ewan Sargent, Features Editor of the Christchurch paper “The Press”, wrote an article in today’s paper (21/03/11) about his experience fishing with us earlier this summer. There is a photo of one of our groups of guests on the front of the Escape section and the article is found within that section as well. Our skipper, Rob, had a great time taking Ewan out in Tinbum as well as the other guests including a grad student from Wellington doing research on the blue cod distribution around NZ. It is nice to see a positive story about beautiful Akaroa ~ Come for a visit and see for yourself…

Rob and Beth want to extend our thoughts and prayers to those who have been affected by the recent earthquake in the area. Akaroa infrastructure, services, and businesses are all fully functional and SH75 is open.
